iCal to CSV
I’ve noticed I’ve been getting a bunch of hits for converting iCal (ics) calendars into CSV files. Not sure why you would need to do this, maybe has something to do with old versions of outlook or something. If you need an iCal (ics) to CSV converter, drop me a comment and I’ll email you back. (you need to register to comment) And I’ll see what I can do for you. Seems easier to go from .csv to .ics but I don’t see why I can’t write one in a week or so. Don’t want to write it if its not gonna be useful. So please drop me a line and I’ll get on it.
Update (29-Dec-2009): I have posted an update here.

I would LOVE to get my hands on a converter… mainly so that I can put iCal calendars into documents (for presentations, etc)
THANKS
What kind of converter are you looking for to put iCal calendars into documents? All these converters do is make the iCalendar file. They do not render them into an actual visual calendar. You need Google Calendar, Outlook, Thunderbird with Lightning, Sunbird, iCalendar from Apple, etc. to make a calendar you can use in a presentation.
Hi –
I’m organizing a yahoo group for my child’s classroom, and would love to add a calendar (yahoo/csv-based) to it. For that I’d like to import all the events from the school calendar (google/ics-based). So your converter would come in really handy – please let me know of you got a chance to put one together.
Thanks,
Ana
Since PHP doesn’t (as far as I can tell) have an iCal parser I am going to have to write one. I know there is one that was started but has since (as far as I can tell) been abandoned. I am going to be picking it up shortly and I will let you know.
ical to csv…. SUPER USEFUL! Being able to put anything into a spreadsheet is useful! Help!
I need it to convert Google calendar ICS files to Yahoo! CSV. Let me know if there is any converter out there, or options to accomplish this task. Thanks.
You guys do realize that converting the ical to a csv will simply result in being able to import it into more programs, such as Yahoo calendar which (As far as I know) only supports csv files. It will not (as of yet) make it a pretty looking calendar for importing into excel. Although there is no reason you wouldn’t be able to open the csv in excel, it just wont look good.
This would be extremely useful to me as I just need to convert my vents into a simple list of the event name, description, and date it occurred.
I’d love to have a converter for ical to csv. The calendar at work can only import csv files, not ical.
I really need a converter (for my office) if you have one! Let me know.
I really need one for my office! Please let me know.
I need this converter! Please let me know.
this would be super useful – I take appointments via an online calendar that I sync with my iCal on my computer and my iPhone. all was well until I had to write a business plan and put my data into a spreadsheet!!! i just can’t bear the thought doing this manually! if i could convert the .ics files to .csv, then I could open with excel and my life would be a lot easier – thanks & keep me posted!
This would be very helpful as I would like to sync iCal with my webmail client. (mailtrust/rackspace)
Keep me posted!
I would love to get this converter if you ended up creating it. Any help would be so much appreciated!
Thanks!

If anyone needs proof that ics to csv would be useful, just note that someone is selling commercial software that basically does this: http://www.stevenriggs.com/Site/TimeTable.html. Of course, being commercial software, it’s easy and user-friendly… but being able to convert ics to csv would allow anyone who knows how to use spreadsheets to perform the same basic function: add up total hours over a chosen range.
I’ve been looking high and low for a ICS to CSV converter. I want to import much of my iCal/googleCal into my Timex DataLink watch, which of course will only take CSV (rotten backwards little windows based app).
Thanks for any help you can give!
Hey,
I could also really use this program to convert ics to csv if you wrote it.
thanks a lot

I’m looking for an ical to csv converter b/c we are creating a school calendar as a fundraiser via a calendar creation site online. The calendar software seems to only support csv imports. However, I’ve got my calendar of events for the school community in google calendar, which is iCal. Thanks for any help you can provide.
.ICS to .CSV would be helpful to me because I am trying to import the 2009 Ohio State Buckeyes Football Shedule, which I found in ICAL format, to My Yahoo calendar. Then, I can then sync My Yahoo calendar to my Blackberry calendar via BlackBerry Desktop Manager software. Convoluted, yes, but Yahoo Calendar only imports from Palm software and .csv files, and BB Desktop Mgr only syncs with Yahoo and ASCII database. Maybe I need to find .ics to ASCII, lol!
Hi
I’m looking for an iCal to .CSV converter. I work at a school and the principal asked me to help him find one. I think our web calander application only exports in .CSV and he probably wants to send the files in iCal format to the staff so they can have them on their machines in the classroom.
Thanks!
Would be great. Someone else attempted it, but it does not work in Snow Leopard. Dates get mixed up.
Maybe you can join forces with http://felixchenier.com/doku.php?id=mac:convert_ical_files_to_csv_ics2csv
I would love to have a ics to csv converter so I could match appointments and events with the mileage log in excel format- I recorded the miles but not the destinations. If I could sort events by dates- I could better reconstruct where I was when
I’d love to have one . . .would like to export calendar dates into spreadsheet format . . .thanks!
I use Essential PIM as my scheduler, and it is not (yet) compatible with my Nokia E71….so exporting it into csv, then converting to xls will be one way of carrying my calendar around. So this ical to csv converter should be very useful.
Thanks.
I need it, need it, need it! A .ics to .csv converter would make my life a breeze. I put my concert schedule up in ReverbNation and I currently have to type in a show at a time because calendars can only be imported as .csv and I use iCal and Google Calendar. There is not enough time in a day to type all that stuff into my ReverbNation database!! Help, pretty please!!!
I’d like to export my Google calendar to a spreadsheet so I can analyse how I spend my time. GC only exports ical files. So an .ics to .csv converter would solve my problem. See previous comment… You collecting votes to see if you want to make this?
Add my name to your “pretty please” list.
Silly me… I see that you did it. But apparently it only works from your website, or used to. Looks like it’s broken now.
